I was able to mod my 2nd gen stick before I picked up the 4k stick with more internal storage butthis is a hardware hatch which included sottering etc so I would not recommendit to a regular user, it’s pretty bad on amazon in 2019 they are still giving us a 8gb 4k stick. apk’s look for your self if you don’t have the equipment just to get a idea how the stick functions But bottom line on this thread system apps are system processes, there are task manager type. I have everyone of their devices sent to me for review. Expandable internal storage spend $80 on eBay as this product is still very relevant. The fire tv 2 is still outperforms every amazon device and has usb, Ethernet, audio ports. I like thisproduct but amazon dropped the ball on any improvements they could’ve made. I’m actually amazed they have not made this a 16gb stick after their OS you have 5.92gb left on a 4k stick in 2019? Unacceptable a otg cable with usb hard drive or sad card still gives back up storage not internal.
Again system app are called system apps for a reason they will use very little resources in the background you can use dab to command prompt to connect to the stick and -killbacground services HOWEVER it won’t matter the 1st time the device sleeps or restarts or reboots they always run regardless of force stop the next session they will run, bottom line in this thread guys I write my own software and have review and gotten in the guts of this device, it’s a better product then the last but same process ecosystem which is how amazon does things.
